Houses: The Playing Field of the Planets
by Julene Packer-Louis
Quadruplicities of the Houses
Angular Houses: 1, 4, 7, 10 - begins quadrant, initiating energy, activation, generation
(red - corresponds to cardinal signs of Aries, Cancer, Libra, Capricorn - beginning of seasons)
Succedent Houses: 2, 5, 8, 11 - stabilizes, solidifies, materializes the angular
(blue - corresponds to fixed signs of Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, Aquarius - season holds firm)
Cadent Houses: 3, 6, 9, 12 - ends quadrant, distributes, adjusts, reorients succedent
(green - corresponds to mutable signs of Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, Pisces - season morphing into next)
The self process that initiates in angular stabilizes in succedent and revises in cadent.

Triplicities of the Houses
Life Houses: 1, 5, 9 Fire Trinity of Spirit - creative spark begins stages of development
(red - corresponds to fire signs of Aries, Leo, Sagittarius)

The Houses: The Stage Life Unfolds Upon
The overlay of the quadruplicities and triplicities provides an overlay where each house has its own unique energy. The houses are the playing field for the planets and can operate on different levels: physical, psychological, emotional and spiritual. The houses provide us the landscape of the map of our inner and outer life. If we were to look at our life as a play, the houses are like the stage (planets being like the actors, signs being the costumes, aspects being the dialogue). Therefore the houses provide us with the information of when? and where? along life's path. They are the various areas of the settings in which life unfolds.
